Greetings to the CAGNY community,

On behalf of the Board of the Consumer Analyst Group of New York (CAGNY), we are pleased to kick off our 47th annual conference. We are proud to carry on the unique traditions and collegial spirit of CAGNY with another full slate of informative events presented by top-tier Beverage, Food, Household/Personal Products, and Tobacco companies at the February 2017 conference in Boca Raton. Please do take the time to explore the full agenda on our CAGNY website as we are pleased to have a truly global slate of presenters, including multinationals from both Europe and the US.

Also, remember to keep watch of the website through the year for updates on events as part of our luncheon program in New York. We are starting the year strongly and will host Newell Brands in New York on December 6th. To RSVP, please contact Janet King (, who will also send out emails announcing lunch meetings throughout the year.

Membership and Conference registration is now open for the 2017 CAGNY year, which runs from September 1, 2016 to September 1, 2017. Our annual conference will be held February 20-24, 2017 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, Florida. Please find the preliminary conference agenda posted on the website now at To join CAGNY, go to the appropriate link on the left side of our home page and follow the instructions.

We are pleased to report zero inflation in our membership dues (at $400) and very modest increases in the Resort's hotel rates from last year. We have increased the number of reduced rate rooms available this year and also added a new category of rooms at $269/night (previously, the lowest priced category was at $299). Our hotel block fills up quickly – particularly the lower priced rooms - and is allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. To that end, we strongly encourage you to register on-line; it’s fast, simple and a good opportunity to verify your contact information.  Please remember that you need to be a registered 2016/2017 CAGNY Member to attend the conference in February and/or the luncheon meetings in New York.

Room rates:

  • Bungalow Room: $269/night
  • Cloister Traditional: $299/night
  • Cloister Estate: $370/night
  • Tower Room: $415/night
  • Yacht Club: $415/night
  • Beach with Ocean View: $445/night
  • Yacht with Commodore Club access: $595/night

Golf/tennis outings on Monday, February 20. For those who want a little exercise before the food fest begins, we have organized a golf outing on Monday morning and informal tennis games in the afternoon. Please contact Janet King ( to reserve a spot for golf and Rob Moskow ( for tennis by January 30th.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with CAGNY conference policies if you are new to the organization or just need a refresher. They can be viewed on the website by clicking on the tab “CAGNY policies.” These guidelines are designed to preserve the open, collegial atmosphere of CAGNY with the goal of making the conference a valuable experience for everyone. Note also there are specific policies for members of the media.

Also, please be mindful of the guest meal policy: in order to facilitate interaction between CAGNY members and presenting company management teams, the meal policy remains as follows:

  • Breakfast will continue to be open to members and all registered guests;
  • Lunch will be open to members only;
  • Dinner will be for members plus one guest.

CAGNY Board changes: Dara Mohsenian remains on the Board as Immediate Past President after a successful year as our President and we thank him for his hard work over the last several years in service of the CAGNY organization. Jane Gelfand is transitioning from Monthly Program Chair to Vice President and Treasurer after another successful year of coordinating the luncheon program. In addition, we are pleased to announce that Janet King is joining the CAGNY board as she begins her service in the position of Monthly Chair. Stay tuned for more information on the luncheon program in the coming months – new events will be posted on the CAGNY website and via emails to members. And of course, our annual conference wouldn’t be the success it is without the tireless efforts of our esteemed Conference Chair, Andrew Lazar and his Conference Co-Chairs, Bryan Spillane and Jonathan Feeney.

Finally, we would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the companies sponsoring events at our CAGNY 2017 conference. It is your hospitality & generosity this year and over the past 47 years that have allowed CAGNY to be such a unique event and special tradition. On behalf of the CAGNY Board and our members -- Thank You!

We look forward to seeing everyone in February.
